Save Our Royal Mail campaign

14 July 2013

Councillor Brian Gordon is supporting the “Save our Royal Mail” campaign to keep the postal service a public service and save it from privatisation.

Brian said,

“ If these plans go ahead , then the priorities of the Royal Mail will change from being first and foremost a public service to become a business run for profit.

“We have already seen how last year the cost of a first class stamp rose from 46p to 60p thanks to the regulator Ofcom.

“Residents in Mill o’Mains, Whitfield, Fintry and other communities in the North East ward regard the postal service as a good service and they don’t want it sold off so that a few can make a profit from it. “
