18 January 2012
Commenting on the publication of the Police and Fire (Reform) Scotland Bill, Scottish Labour’s Shadow Minister for Community Safety and Legal Affairs, Jenny Marra MSP, said:
"Scottish Labour believes the reorganisation of Scotland’s police, fire and rescue services offers huge potential to improve services, make them more responsive and accountable to local communities than ever before, as well as unlocking savings that can be ploughed back into protecting the frontline.
"We will closely examine the detail of the Bill to determine whether it achieves those aims."
