Councillor Kevin Keenan has raised with council officials parents’ concerns regarding the laock of school crossing patrollers at several entrances in his ward.

In a message to council officials, he said,

“I have received concerns from some of the mums whose children attend Downfield Primary School that since the beginning of the new term there has been no crossing patrol person at the Strathmartine Road entrance to Downfield PS nor at the Gillburn Road junction on Strathmartine Road.

“ This is one of the busiest roads in the City, and therefore I hope that you will be able to address these concerns as quickly as possible in the interest of the safety of the children going to school.

“I have a great deal of time for our crossing patrollers as it appears to me that they all give full-time commitment for part-time wages, and I appreciate the efforts of each and every one of them.”
